Waterfront Old Town has a long history dating back to 1749, and can be seen in its bricked sidewalks, colonial architecture, and the old cobblestone street. Parking can be very difficult to find in Old Town Alexandria, and the meter maids are serious about enforcing the parking rules. One easy and free mode of transportation is the Dash About free bus taking passengers between the King Street Metro Station and the Market Square on King Street.
